Noelle and Hector first meet when Noelle joins "A.I.R.", the Alien Investigations Removal agency, with her best friend Ava. Hector a dark, brooding, tatooed bad boy is one of it's instructors who is immediately taken by Noelle's beauty. Noelle projects the image of a spoiled rich girl, one she uses to keep people at a distance. Slowly Hector begins to see the real Noelle and his attraction grows nearly unbearable. Because of his "Power" Hector knows he can't be with any woman. He tried once and his Power killed her. His guilt and fear of repeating that horror makes him keep his distance. Regardless of Noelle's attempts at seduction Hector runs in the other direction. A year later, a murder case involving missing girls sees Hector and Nicolle teamed together to investigate the crime. This making the attraction between them that much stronger. Circumstances soon reveal that Hector could possibly have a relationship without the the tragic ending and things heat up fast. Leaving no doubt that Gena Showalter knows how to write sexual tension and hot love scenes. Two other scenes in this book deserve mention as they made me laugh out loud. The scenes are when during a training exercise Noelle thoroughly beats Hector, the unbeatable instructor and when Hector is attempting masturbation, considering his power not an easy thing to do.
The only part of the book that I didn't care for was Dallas' involvement. I found it both confusing to the story line and unnecessary. But even with that kept in mind I have to admit that I did really enjoy this book. Definitely Worth the Read ! 4.3 out of 5 stars
